Charitable Beneficiary

We are very pleased to announce that Anime Houston 2023 will benefit The Trevor Project with a donation presented after the conclusion of the convention.

The Trevor Project is the leading suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning) young people. The nonprofit operates several programs to help prevent and respond to the public health crisis of LGBTQ youth suicide, including 24/7 free crisis services, research, advocacy, education, and peer support.

Anime Texas’ Charitable History
Anime Texas was founded with multiple, simultaneous goals in mind: to recognize the remarkable contributions to the anime industry by Texas-based actors, directors, creatives and producers; to provide an affordable way for fans of anime to meet some of these talented folks, as well as to have a safe, welcoming and fun venue to see amazing entertainment, celebrate cosplay and connect with friends and fellow fans; and to raise money for worthy, important charities.

Starting with Anime Dallas in 2018, which was held in the aftermath of the historic devastation of Hurricane Harvey in Houston, the convention raised and donated $8,700 to Disaster Relief USA to help with recovery efforts there. Anime Dallas has continued to raise money for different charities each year.

In the first year of Anime Houston (2021), we were honored to benefit Veterans Matter | National Homeless Veterans Housing Program with a $3,000 donation.
